This Vegan Banana Waffle recipe is a healthier option because they use plant milk instead of whole dairy milk. This cuts down on saturated fat.
No eggs, no butter, no oil!
INGREDIENTS & SUBSTITUTIONS
This recipe uses mashed bananas insetad of any oil or eggs. It keeps the bread moist and keeps it from getting dry. If you dont have bananas you can use any pureed or mashed food that is a similar texture (i.e. applesauce, pumpkin puree, butternut squash puree, etc). If batter is too wet add 1-2 tbsp more of gluten-free pancake mix.
This recipe uses any plant based milk you want to use. It can be oat milk (gluten-free), flax seed milk, soy milk, coconut milk, plant based milk, almond milk ect. All milks will work the same, even if you choose to use a dairy based milk. You can sub any milk and continue to follow the amounts in the recipe.
You can use any sugar in this recipe including white or brown sugar. You can also use a sugar replacement to make these waffles sugar free. Any of these options can be used on a 1:1 ratio. Double check the package info for sugar repacements as a few call for only using 75% of the amount of sugar in the recipe so it is not too sweet.
I use Josie’s best gluten-free waffle mix or flourish gluten-free waffle mix. I havent tried other gluten free waffle or pancake mixes but they will all work the same!
