Anything that tastes like pizza and can be eaten with your hands is a winner for me. I love handheld food. Heck sometimes I just want a snack plate for dinner and these buffalo chicken strombolis are perfect for the type of vibe. This buffalo chicken stromboli recipe is also my go-to for a party, get together or a holday. They are spicy, crispy and filled with melted cheese! I brought these gluten free stromboli to our family christmas party last year and they were SUCH a hit.

If you love finger foods like I do, you’ll love these mini italian skewers appetizer and my italian chicken sausage skewers!

    why you’ll love this recipe

    • This buffalo chicken stromboli is the perfect party appetizer or even fun family dinner. I find them easy to prepare and perfect to feed a crowd. Its a great low maintenance recipe that looks like a show stopper. They are easy to make into large party appetizer slices, or even small personal sizes. I love bringing it to christmas parties every year.
    • These Strombolis are an easy 4-ingredient recipe. Yep, ONLY FOUR! I’m obsessed with easy recipes and it doesn’t get any easier than a 4-ingredient recipe.
    • This recipe takes about 5 minutes to prep, and 30 minutes to bake. I hate a recipe that takes 2+ hours to make. This one is WAY easier.
    • This recipe is allergy friendly. You can use gluten free pizza dough for a gluten free stromboli. You can use dairy free cheese, for an easy dairy free stromboli!
    • It’s an easy freezer friendly meal, which means it is a great option for to prep ahead of time and store in the freezer! You’ll have it ready to go when you need to just pull a dinner out of the freezer and heat it up quick.

    ingredients & substitutions

Pizza Dough: Use any pizza dough you have! I use trader joes gluten free pizza dough or wholly gluten free pizza dough. Both are gluten free and roll out nicely with a rolling pin. If you are not gluten free you can use any pizza dough you want. Feel free to even call your local pizza shop too! They usually sell dough that isnt rolled out yet!

Mozzarella Cheese: For this stromboli recipe, I like to use shredded or sliced mozzarella. To make this buffalo chicken stromboli recipe dairy free, I use vegan or dairy free cheese. To make this stromboli recipe low in fat, I use low fat, lite or fat free cheese.

Chicken Fingers: My favorite part about this gluten free stromboli recipe is the crispy chicken in it! Using chicken fingers is an easy hack to save time. I used gluten free chicken fingers. I like the ones from trader joes or the perdu gluten free chicken fingers. To make this a healthier, lower carb option use grilled chicken or shredded chicken. A rotisserie chicken is also a great time saving option!

Buffalo Sauce: This buffalo chicken stromboli obviously uses buffalo sauce! I love a spicy buffalo sauce! To make this recipe dairy free, make sure to use dairy free or vegan buffalo sauce. If you don’t have buffalo sauce, I like to mix together butter or vegan butter and hot sauce in a sauce pan until it is warmed.

    how to serve & store

These buffalo chicken stromboli slices are best served right out of the oven! I like to serve with a side of ranch or blue cheese for dipping.

For any leftovers, I store this buffalo chicken stromboli in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

To reheat, I add the gluten free stromboli slices to the oven or air fryer. I cook until cheese is melted and edges of the crust are crispy and browned.
