Gluten Free Avocado Toast

This gluten free avocado toast could not get any easier…or more delicious! The gluten free bread is toasted and topped with ripe mashed avocado, feta cheese, red onion, tomato, balsamic glaze and avocado oil! It is seasoned with salt, pepper and parsley.

Gluten free avocado toast is a healthy option for breakfast, lunch or even a mid day snack. It is packed with healthy fats and you can top it with any vegetables or leafy greens you like! It is super simple to throw together. You can make the gluten free avocado toast at home, or bring the ingredients to work and throw it together there! It is an easy on-the-go recipe!

For the base of this gluten free avocado toast you really only need 2 ingredients: avocado and gluten free bread.

Gluten free bread

Avocado toast is best on crisp toast instead of soft bread. You want the crunch of the toast to offset the softness of the avocado.

avocado

Avocado is the “meat” of these gluten free avocado toast. It gives the gluten free avocado toast the flavor and texture you want and is packed with healthy fats.

You want to make sure your avocados are ripe.

how to check if an avocado is ripe?

You want to lightly squeeze the avocado in your hand. If you can gentle feel it giving and it is a little soft, its likely ripe. The skin should be dark in color.

If the avocado is rock solid hard or green in color it is not ready yet.

Toppings

For this gluten free avocado toast version I used feta, red onion, tomato, balsamic glaze and avocado oil! It is seasoned with salt, pepper and parsley! You can switch up the toppings how ever you’d like to give your own spin to it!

This gluten free avocado toast is packed with fresh flavors. The avocado is soft and smooth, while the bread is toasted and crispy. I like to add a drizzle of oil or a spread to my gluten free avocado toast to give it extra flavor. I always season my avocado toast with salt and pepper for a seasoned taste.

Step 1

Toast the slices of gluten free bread in a toaster until golden brown.

Step 2

Slice your avocado in half. Remove half from the skin and mash on a cutting board.

Step 3

Spread mashed avocado onto slices of bread.

Step 4
