Gluten-free rolled oats: Base of the oatmeal, provides texture and fiber. Any oatmeal works. You can use steel-cut oats, old-fashioned oats, instant oats, instant oatmeal packets, quick oats, leftover oatmeal, but if you are gluten free make sure to use gluten-free oats. You can substitute with other rolled options like quinoa flakes, millet flakes, or buckwheat flakes. All are available at your local grocery store.
Mashed bananas: Sweetener and adds moisture. You can substitute with mashed apple or pumpkin puree.
Oat milk: non-dairy milk, adds creaminess. You can substitute with any other milk such as almond milk, soy milk, cashew milk, coconut milk or any plant milk. If you are not dairy free you can use a dairy based milk.
Protein powder: Adds protein. You can substitute with nut butter (almond butter, cashew butter), chia seeds or ground flaxseed for a protein boost. If you do not want to use protein powder just use more oats.
Peanut butter powder: Adds peanut butter flavor without the extra fat to the strawberry oatmeal. You can substitute with regular peanut butter or any other nut butter you like.
Toppings: Add any of your favorite toppings. Chocolate chips, freeze-dried chopped strawberries, and sliced banana – add sweetness and fun textures. You can use any toppings you like – nuts, seeds, fresh fruit, or a drizzle of honey. You can also add a sprinkling of brown sugar, a pinch of salt, sugar, vanilla extract or almond extract, pure maple syrup, non-dairy yogurt or greek yogurt, additional fresh strawberries or strawberry jam.

This hot oatmeal tastes sweet and nutty from the banana and peanut butter powder. The oats add a chewy texture. With the chocolate chips and freeze-dried strawberries on top, the strawberry oatmeal tastes like a chocolate strawberry shortcake in a healthy and filling breakfast option.

In a small saucepan or medium saucepan, whisk together the mashed bananas, oats, oat milk, protein powder, and peanut butter powder.

Place the small pot over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the oat mixture thickens and the oats are tender.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup gluten-free rolled oats
- 2 ripe bananas mashed
- ⅔ cup oat milk
- 1 tbsp protein powder gluten free/dairy free
- 1 tbsp peanut butter powder
- 1 tbsp Chocolate chips Dairy Free
- 2 tbsp freeze-dried strawberries or fresh
- 1/2 Banana Sliced
