Ingredients & Substitutions
Chicken wings: I always choose wingettes and drumettes. Drumettes are the larger, more substantial pieces attached to the tip. While they may have a bit more bone, the extra meat makes them incredibly satisfying to eat. Wingettes are the smaller, meatier pieces between the tip and the drumette. They’re perfect for baking because they cook evenly and hold onto sauces beautifully.
Baking powder: a naturally gluten free ingredient to make the chicken wings as crispy as possible.
Seasoning: I used garlic, onion powder and chipotle but you can use any seasoning you want!
How do I make these Gluten Free Chicken Wings?
First, I preheat oven to 425. Next, I pat the chicken wings dry with a paper towel.

After, I add them to a bowl and cover in baking powder, garlic, onion powder, chipotle seasoning, salt and pepper. Always make sure to toss together until wings are fully coated.
I always add to a parchment lined baking sheet. Then, I add to the oven and bake for 30-40 minutes.

While they are baking, I mix together the glaze honey and lemon juice in a small bowl
Once fully cooked, I remove the Gluten Free Chicken Wings from the oven and brush with lemon honey mixture. Thats it!

Expert Tips & Tricks
I always line my baking sheet with parchment paper for a mess free recipe and easy clean up.
For a different flavor gluten free chicken wing, try seasoning with another flavor like cayenne pepper, chili powder, bbq rub, italian seasoning or jerk seasoning. You can even brush the wings with a buffalo sauce or a bbq sauce instead of honey!
Are baked wings just as crispy as fried wings?
Before starting the recipe testing process for gluten free chicken wings, I really wasnt sure how they would come out. I did a lot of reasearch because I wanted a crispy outside and a juicy inside. Could I get that in the oven? Yes! The secret was to pat the wings dry and add some baking powder!
Why use baking powder for these chicken wings?
Baking powder is naturally gluten free and can help give that crispy outside layer we all know and love without deep frying. Baking powder raises the pH level of the chicken skin to help make it extra crispy.

Can I make these Gluten Free Chicken Wings in the air fryer?
Absolutely! I LOVE my air fryer! The swap is super simple. To make these Gluten Free Chicken Wings in the air fryer, preheat to 400ºF and bake for 15-16 minutes. Make sure to still flip the wings over halfway through. Because the air fryer is smaller, you may need to do 2 separate batches.
How Do I Serve the Gluten Free Chicken Wings?
I like to serve the Gluten Free Chicken Wings up on a large platter with carrots, celery, ranch just like if we were at the bar! You can also use blue cheese dressing instead of ranch. I like to pair these with a side salad or some fries for a full, complete meal.
How do I Store these Gluten Free Chicken Wings?
To store, I let the Gluten Free Chicken Wings cool completely before refrigerating in an airtight container for up to four days.
For longer storage, I love to portion into freezer-safe containers and freeze for up to 2 months.

How do I reheat leftovers?
If Gluten Free Chicken Wings leftovers are stored in the freezer, let thaw overnight. Then, add to the oven and bake on 350 until crispy. Do not let them burn. You can also air fry them until warm as well. Make sure to only heat it until it is warm and not overcook.
