    ingredients & substitutions

    Chicken sausage

Chicken sausage in this chicken sausage salad has a mild. For this recipe I used an apple maple flavored chicken sausage but you can use any flavor you want. The apple maple is fall themed but not overwelming. You can also use garlic flavored chicken sausage or a spicy one!

Chicken sausage is a good source of lean protein. It is also relatively low in calories and fat compared to other types of sausage.

If you don’t have chicken sausage, you can substitute any other type of chicken such as grilled chicken or gluten free chicken cutlet. You can also use any sausage, such as pork sausage, turkey sausage, or beef sausage.

    Lettuce

Lettuce is a good source of vitamins A and C, as well as fiber. It is also low in calories and fat.

If you don’t have lettuce, you can substitute any other type of leafy green vegetable, such as spinach, kale, or arugula in this chicken sausage salad.

    Hard-boiled egg

Hard-boiled eggs are a good source of protein, iron, and healthy fats.

If you don’t have hard-boiled eggs, you can substitute another source of protein or fat, such as nuts or avocado. If you are vegan or vegetarian or don’t eat eggs you can skip it!

    Tomato

Tomatoes are a good source of vitamins A and C, as well as potassium.

If you don’t have tomatoes, you can substitute another type of fruit or vegetable, such as cucumber, carrots, or apples in this chicken sausage salad.

    Sweet potato

Sweet potatoes are a good source of vitamins A and C, as well as fiber. They are also a good source of potassium and magnesium.

If you don’t have sweet potatoes, you can substitute another type of starchy vegetable, such as air fried white potatoes, air fried butternut squash, or air fried acorn squash. If you don’t have an air fryer you can use your oven and bake it.

    Honey mustard dressing

Honey mustard dressing has a sweet and tangy flavor.

If you don’t have honey mustard dressing for this chicken sausage salad, you can substitute another type of dressing, such as ranch dressing, Italian dressing, or Caesar dressing. You can also make your own honey mustard dressing by combining honey, mustard, mayonnaise, and vinegar.

    taste & texture

The air fryer chicken sausage salad is filled with fall flavors such as apple, maple, sweet potatoes and garlic. The honey mustard dressing adds a touch of sweetness and tanginess, and it ties all of the flavors together.

The overall texture of the chicken sausage salad is a mix of soft and crunchy. The chicken sausage, lettuce, and sweet potato are all crispy around the edges and soft in the inside, while the hard-boiled egg and tomato add a bit of crunch. The honey mustard dressing helps to bind all of the ingredients together, and it also adds a bit of creaminess to the salad.
