When elote or mexican street corn meets hot dog, all air fried together, you get this Elote Hot Dog. Elote, or Mexican street corn, is grilled corn on the cob that has been slathered with lime, cotija cheese, chili powder and mayo. This same combination of ingredients is also called Equites when served in a cup!

ingredients & substitutions
Hot dogs: If you are gluten free make sure you buy gluten free hot dogs! Classic beef hot dogs are traditional, but you can use turkey, chicken, or plant-based alternatives too!
Hot dog buns: I use a gluten free bun to make my Elote Hot Dog gluten free. I prefer the canyon gluten free sub rolls! They are sturdy and do not fall apart.
Charred corn: Adds a smoky sweetness. Fresh corn is best, but I have used frozen corn too in a pinch!
Black beans: I like black beans the best but you can also use kidney beans, white beans or pinto beans too.
Feta cheese: Offers tangy cheesy saltiness just like mexican street corn. For a dairy-free Elote Hot Dog, I use crumbled tofu or vegan feta.
Jalapeños: Bring heat and a fresh flavor. If you prefer it to be less spicey, use mild green chilies, pickled jalapeños or omit them altogether! My husbands packs these on top but I just add a few.
Sour cream: A creamy spread on top of the hot dog. Greek yogurt or vegan yogurt can be used as a dairy-free substitute. I also have used mayo before which is a great sustitute too!

expert tips & tricks
For extra flavor, I like to add lime juice or chili powder to the corn.
For a smoky Elote Hot Dog flavor you can always grill the hot dogs instead of air frying! If you don’t have a grill or an air fryer you can bake them or boil them as well!
serving, storing and meal prepping
To serve, I place the hot dog in the bun and top with the prepared corn mixture, black beans, feta, jalapeños, cilantro, and sour cream! For better storage, I separate the hot dogs, buns, and toppings so nothing gets soggy.
I store the Elote Hot Dog parts separately. I put the hot dogs and buns in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. I store the remaining ingredients separately, covering them tightly.
To reheat, I warm hot dogs and buns in the air fryer. Then add my toppings!
