This Italian Hoagie Dip is served with a crispy baguette…or gluten free baguette if its me! The sandwich tippings are chopped and served in a bowl, perfect for a party or crowd.
My friend introduced me to this Italian Hoagie Dip or italian sub dip…whatever you like to call it! She made it a little differently but I was so obsesed with it I wanted to recreate this easy snack recipe in a way that was a little leaner and make sure it was a gluten free recipe. I don’t think I’ve ever looked back since.

Meats: I use Turkey, salami, and pepperoni or turkey pepperoni. These are classic choices for Italian hoagies, italian subs or classic italian combo sandwiches. You can substitute or add other cold cuts like ham, prosciutto, or mortadella in this Italian sub Dip.
Cheeses: I always use Provolone and mozzarella. You can substitue with other cheeses like Swiss, parmesan or American. You can also use dairy free cheese for a dairy free recipe. If you do not have sliced cheese you can use shredded cheese.
Vegetables: Lettuce and banana peppers provide a fresh, crunchy element. You can add other vegetables like tomatoes, onions, or olives.
Dressing: Red wine vinegar, mayonnaise, and Italian seasoning are classic toppings on italian hoagies. Experiment with different vinegars like balsamic or herbs like basil and oregano in this Italian Hoagie Dip.

Step 1
On a cutting board, cut the turkey, salami, pepperoni, provolone and mozzarella into tiny chopped pieces. The smaller the better.
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine the turkey, salami, pepperoni, provolone, and mozzarella.
Step 3
Stir in the shredded lettuce and banana peppers.
Step 4
Make the dressing for the Italian Hoagie Dip: In a small bowl, whisk together the red wine vinegar, mayonnaise, and Italian seasoning.
Step 5
Pour the dressing over the meat and vegetable mixture. Toss the italian sub dip to coat evenly.
Step 6
Transfer the Italian Hoagie Dip to a serving dish and serve immediately with your favorite chips, bread, crackers or gluten free bread.

- This Italian Hoagie Dip is good with crackers or toasted baguette slices. For a gluten free dip I use gluten free crackers, a gluten free baguette or potato chips.
- To make sure this italian sub dip is gluten free, make sure you are using gluten free meat or cold cuts. I always use boar’s head since they are transparently gluten free.
serving and storing this Italian Hoagie Dip
Serve the Italian hoagie dip chilled with your favorite chips, crackers, or bread. I love slicing up a gluten free baguette, toasting it and serving it for dipping.
I store leftover italian sub dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. The dip can be served cold or at room temperature.
You can make this italian sub dip the day before a party or event. It stores great in the fridge for up to 3 days. I just like to fold the lettuce in right before serving.

- 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
- 1 baguette or crackers or gluten free option
