ingredients & substitutions
Pickles: Any kind of pickles you like will work! Dill pickle spears are classic, but spicy bread and butter pickles, sour pickles or sweet pickle spears would also be tasty. You can buy whole pickles or pre-cut pickle spears.
Turkey Bacon: Regular bacon works too, but skip it for a vegetarian option. Sub any slice of bacon you want including thick-cut bacon, smoky bacon, salty bacon.
Dipping Sauce: Chipotle mayo adds a smoky kick, but homemade ranch, your favorite bbq sauce, blue cheese dressing or even buffalo ranch dressing would be delicious choices. You can even browse through the options in your local grocery store comment section. You can make your own dip with cream cheese or sour cream, cheddar and jalapenos and anything you’d add to jalapeno poppers for fun dip that tastes like pickle poppers.
taste & texture
This recipe combines salty, bacon crispy perfection with the tangy flavor of pickles. The air fryer makes the bacon nice and crispy on the outside. The pickle stays juicy and flavorful on the inside. You get a explosion of flavors upon first bite. The dipping sauce adds another layer of taste, depending on what you choose. Chipotle mayo adds a smoky and spicy kick, while ranch dressing cools things down and adds a creamy element.
