    why you’ll love this recipe

This gouda bread recipe is gluten-free, vegan, nut free and vegetarian. It has a low fat option too!

This bread is packed with in-season flavors, then drizzled with honey. This easy, cheesy gouda bread is perfect for sunday football, any kind of parties or get together, or basically any day of the week! In addition, this bread is perfect for an appetizer or even as a side for a soup. Plus this gouda bread takes only half an hour to make.

    ingredients & substitutions

    • gluten free buns – For this I used canyon hawaiian sweet rolls because they are attached and easy to use. If you cannot find them, feel free to use any gluten free rolls and place them close together as though they were attached. That way, the toppings and cheese will spread across the rolls still creating a cheesy pull apart bread. https://canyonglutenfree.com/product/hawaiian-sweet-rolls/

    taste & texture

This warm and cheesy pull apart gouda bread is packed with fall flavors and drizzled with warm honey and cozy herbs! Addionally, this gouda bread is topped with crunchy pumpkin seeds, stuffed with caramelized onions and in-season figs, then drizzled with honey! It pulls apart easily right out of the oven, creating the best cheese pull!

    directions

    step 1

To start, preheat the oven to 375.

    step 2

Slice the gluten free rolls in half without separating them. You want to be able to pull them apart after it bakes, so do not pull them apart now.

    step 3

Next, on a cutting board, slice onion into thin strips. Add to medium sized frying pan and cook on medium heat until onions are browned, soft and fully cooked.

    step 4

After, add layers of sliced vegan gouda, caramelized onions, figs, pumpkin seeds. Top withcumin + garlic + cinnamon. Drizzle with honey.

    step 5

Finally, place on a baking sheet and bake for approx 20-25 minutes. Each roll will be different but check that the rolls aren’t burn but the cheese is fully melted before removing from oven.

    step 6

Place the gouda bread on a serving plate and pull apart to make individual servings!

    expert tips & tricks

HOW TO MAKE THIS LOWER IN FAT:

To make this gouda bread lower in fat, use fat free cheese! Sub fat free mozzarella or even fat free/low fat cream cheese on the inside instead of gouda.

    how to serve & store

Serve this gouda bread right out of the oven! I love it hot and melty! Place it onto a cutting board, cut into desired size pieces (large for meals and small for appetizers or sharing!).

You can let the gouda bread rest for 3-5 minutes if you want more of a room temperature pizza that wont burn your mouth!
