Italian Sausage Bake

This italian sausage bake recipe is so easy to make, even beginner cooks can do it! Its perfect to make as a dinner, for a fall tailgate, for a party or even for a summer bbq! The ingredients are minimal, so you're not going to have to run to the store for anything special. Everything cooks in one pan which makes cleanup a breeze. This italian sausage bake is gluten free, dairy free and nut free. The italian sausage bake is made with peppers, onions, sausage and potatoes.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound Italian sausage links casings removed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3-4 red bell pepper sliced thinly
  • 2 white onion sliced thinly
  • 1 pound baby potatoes quartered
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sausage links and cook until browned on all sides.
  • Remove sausage from skillet, slice and set aside.
  • Add bell pepper and onion to a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Add potatoes.
  • Top with garlic powder, salt, pepper, oregano, red wine vinegar and olive oil.
  • Add sliced sausage.
  • Bake for 45 minutes, or until potatoes are tender and sausage is cooked through.

Notes

To serve: The Italian Sausage Bake can be served hot or cold. It can be served as a main course or as a side dish. If serving it as a main course, you can serve it with a salad or some crusty bread. If serving it as a side dish, you can serve it with grilled chicken or fish.
To store in the fridge: The Italian Sausage Bake can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. To store it, simply let it cool completely and then transfer it to an airtight container. When you're ready to eat it, remove it from the fridge and let it come to room temperature before reheating it.
To store in the freezer: The Italian Sausage Bake can be stored in the freezer for up to 2 months. To freeze it, simply let it cool completely and then transfer it to a freezer-safe container. When you're ready to eat it, thaw it overnight in the fridge and then reheat it.
To reheat: The Italian Sausage Bake can be reheated in the oven, on the stovetop, or in the microwave. To reheat it in the oven, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place the dish in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until heated through. To reheat it on the stovetop, heat some olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the dish to the skillet and cook for 10-15 minutes, or until heated through. To reheat it in the microwave, place the dish in a microwave-safe dish and microwave on high for 3-5 minutes, or until heated through.
