Fall Pizza with Sausage Recipe (Gluten Free)

This fall pizza with dates is packed with veggies, including caramelized onions, spinach, and dates, and it's topped with mozzarella cheese and sausage (or vegan sausage, if you prefer). Ingredients

  • 1 gluten-free pizza crust
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion thinly sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 cup pitted and chopped Medjool dates
  • 1/2 cup crumbled mozzarella cheese or vegan mozzarella
  • 1/4 cup chopped spinach
  • 1/4 cup cooked apple maple chicken sausage or vegan sausage
  • 1 tablespoon garlic spread
  • Honey drizzle for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and salt and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add balsamic vinegar and cook until onions are caramelized, about 10 minutes more.
  • Remove onions from heat and stir in dates.
  • Spread garlic spread over pizza crust. Top with caramelized onions, dates, mozzarella cheese, spinach, and sausage.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Drizzle with honey and serve immediately.

  • You can make this recipe on a pizza stone, pizza pan or on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for easy clean up!
